[Sometimes he can catch her before she manages to leave, lightly grasping her wrist and drawing her back against him until the tension drains out of her body and he feels her breathing level out once again. He prefers those times over the ones when he wakes just in time to see her close the door.

He hums out another soft, comfortable sound and shifts to catch her lips very lightly with his, a few brief touches with each soft press like a promise for the one to come.]

Good. Glad to hear it.

( It's a better way to get rid of the running of her mind, certainly, one of the only things that doesn't feel claustrophobic in the wake of the things her mind conjures up.

But she slept well last night and each soft kiss is just another reason to stay in bed while the morning unfolds to what others consider a normal hour. Fingertips tease lightly at his side, tickling ribs as they trail down to his hip and rest there. )

Take it you're not in a hurry today?

Hah-- [He exhales quietly as he reflexively shifts under her teasing fingers, the light touch tickling against his ribs. Ignis smiles, then softly laughs, his eyes briefly closing as he does. The backs of his fingers brush against her stomach, trailing over warm skin.]

I hadn't a mind to be. [Another light kiss affirms his position, his desire to remain right here where they are and enjoy each other's company as the morning rolls in.]

Unless you'd like to watch the sunrise.

( He's moves like that before when she runs light touches across his body. Kate usually dismisses it as natural but today she tilts her head as best she can on a pillow and asks; )

You ticklish?

( And what would asking this be if you didn't also attempt another light, ticklish brush of her fingers against his stomach. )

Not-- usually. [He replies, quickly grasping her hand when she makes another attempt and holding it loosely in his. It's purely by virtue of being so relaxed around her, and normally he wouldn't be ticklish at all.

A warm smile slips onto his face, tempered by a light warning in his eyes that says 'don't you dare'.

Really, he should know better.]

( She's flattered, really. But he certainly knows better than to expect that that would be that. Being this comfortable with someone is a blessing she has rarely appreciated in her life, always giving that energy over to walls and worries beyond simply living in the moment. Trying not to think about it doesn't come easy, but moments like this bring a smile to her face, one as predatory as a cat, and Kate pushes him onto his back easily. )

Take that as a compliment.

( Yes, yes she is running her fingers all over to try and see what strikes the spot. And yes, of course she's doing this while straddling him. )

[It wasn't entirely meant as any kind of compliment, but he doesn't get the chance to mention that before she pushes him over into what he's sure is her favourite position for him to be in. How easily she can overpower him is still a surprise sometimes, given her size.

He drums his fingers against her thighs, an awareness of what she's trying to do making it far easier to resist giving her the reaction that she wants. Instead, he smiles in a fond, patient kind of way.]

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve, here. Maybe you should tell me.

( Correction: her favourite position for herself to be in. Which, with all the competitions and spending time on rooftops, should be pretty clear. She's always favoured being on top, setting the pace and having control at her fingertips.

Speaking of which...

Kate's lips purse together when he doesn't react, her fingers eventually coming to rest on his chest either side of his heart. It's not often she finds someone with whom she'd engage in this sort of frivolity with, he could at least have the decency to laugh a little. He has a nice laugh, but Kate has never been great at drawing out chuckles from others.

(Deliberately, anyway.) )

Shut up.

( Murmured fondly with a roll of her eyes because like hell she's actually admitting that she wanted to hear him laugh. )

[Can it be both? Ignis would certainly argue that she likes seeing him on his back as much as she likes being on top of him, and he could undoubtedly provide several pieces of evidence to support the theory.

When her hands stop moving, he places his own over them and squeezes gently around her fingers.

Her words, at least, get what she wanted out of him. He laughs, bringing her hands up to his lips and pressing a warm, soft kiss to the backs of her fingers.]

You don't mean that.

( Well... maybe. Maaaaybe.

Her eyes brighten, brown hues warming with a smile that doesn't reach her lips as he laughs. Her hands tighten around his and tug them to her waist before they slip around the back of his shoulders and ever so gently suggest that he should sit up now.

She also quite likes him in this position, after all. Means she doesn't have to mean forward to kiss him. )

[Ignis shifts, a soft sound leaving him as he pushes his weight up onto one arm and trails the other hand up her side, brushing over her shoulder and then into her hair as he draws her into a kiss.

If he's being truthful, he enjoys this position, too.]

Mm. Perhaps I should let you get bored more often.

( Her fingers lazily draw patterns across the breadth of his shoulders, trace their way up to his hairline as she peppers kisses between his words and lets out an exhale that almost sounds like a laugh at the idea.

Are you sure that's a good idea, Ignis? Are you sure? I mean, you have met your girlfriend. Boredom doesn't suit her, and such things can all too often lead to less than advisable ideas. )

Stop coming over if it gets borin'.

( But they both know that isn't true, that she'd still come over even if she had to provide all her own entertainment. )

No, you wouldn't.

[He presses another quick kiss to her lips as he retorts. Nothing would keep her from coming over here, he's sure of that, and certainly not boredom. After all, she has her own ways of creating entertainment.

Ignis pushes a curl of wild, sleep-rumpled hair from her face and tucks it loosely behind her ear.]

It's entirely unfair that you're so beautiful this early in the morning.

[dedikated]

( There are things, but none of which bear thinking about at this particular moment in time. They're for moments far outside of the bliss of an early morning, away from gentle touches and lingering kisses.

And then he's sweet and Kate laughs as she rolls her eyes and shoves him gently. )

Shut up.

( That's disgusting. True, but disgusting. )

[claritatis]

[He moves back slightly against the shove, but then shift forwards and pushes at her shoulder, rolling her onto her back and against the pillows. Ignis catches a curl of her hair and toys with it, leaning over her and pressing another kiss to her forehead.]

I will not.

[He'll never stop telling her she's beautiful, and a whole host of other things she finds a little bit harder to hear.]

I'm an incredibly lucky man.

[dedikated]

( The shift startles a noise out of her, one that's less than dignified, but Kate keeps her mouth closed on the comment in the back of her mind - that this is a strange idea of luck, to be stuck here and with someone like this.

Because, truth is, she feels it too. )

True.

( Because she's beautiful, and all for providing more interesting ways to burn off energy together. )

[claritatis]

[It is a strange idea of luck, but it's a strange place and a strange situation, and Ignis will take his good fortune where he can. At the moment it's in the form of a frustrating pink-haired woman who cares about him despite his many potentially irritating quirks, and he does feel lucky.]

But we really ought to get out of bed. [Don't they have things to do? He catches her hand to kiss the backs of her knuckles.]

Come on.

[dedikated]

( Oh, just roll a girl over and leave her, Ignis? So rude. But he's right, and Kate exhales before standing up, before stretching her arms over her head and delicately pulling her hair loose from a sleep-mussed braid. )

What's for breakfast?

( Asked as she glances around the room. Where did she toss her clothes last night anyway? )

[He'll make it up to her another day - that much can be promised without the need for words. Ignis locates his own trousers, shirt and shoes easily, though has a little more trouble with the smaller items of clothing (no doubt thrown somewhere by Kate).]

Anything you like, so long as I can make it with what we have.

[Half dressed, he straightens and pushes a hand through his hair, grimacing subtly as he finds several parts of it stubbornly sticking upright.]

And I'll have you know, I'm blaming this entirely on you.

[dedikated]

( That is guaranteed to happen, yes. She's not too broken up about it, more concerned with locating underwear and her jeans than anything else. )

... eggs?

( Or whatever it is that is like eggs and found in the shops. They behave the same, at least.

A smile tugs at the corners of her mouth as he plays with the pieces of his hair that won't sit down and she steps over and stretches up to tease the parts which are lying in place. )

Don't see a problem.

[claritatis]

[He doesn't shy away from her teasing, but tolerates it with a patient, warm smile and an amused look in his eyes.]

You wouldn't. [No, she finds some odd pleasure in seeing him so unkempt, he's sure. Another moment, and he reaches up to grasp her wrist, gently pulling her hand down and holding it in both of his, curling her fingers in towards her palm. He kisses the backs of her fingers.]

Eggs it is.

( Unkempt means different things to the two of them. The association with time alone, relaxed and together, brings a warmth to her chest and a brief, private, smile across her face. Same as letting her hair hang loose around her instead of leaving it up in all manner for hairstyles. )

C'mon.

( She's just going to finish getting ready, just going to allow him to try and fight with his hair, if it's that important. )
