The invitation went something like that, so typical that she barely pays the actual wording any mind but for a brief quirk of the brow at the request to dress warmly. It makes a small part of a relatively whirlwind day spent trying to make this city more livable when the only god they have is Confusion, of all the glowclouds in the multiverse.

She gets to Ignis' place just as the sun starts setting, pausing at the door instead of simply entering, and knocks. )

[Having Confusion around is, at least, an indication that eventually most of them will find their way back. Until then, Ignis is alert to the fact that Confusion's events, along with Fear's, have a tendency to be the least favourite of the lot.

He's surprised to hear the knock, in truth, but he moves quickly to open the door. He's already dressed to go out, used to wearing layers almost constantly against this cold by now, and he plants a brief kiss on her forehead in greeting.]

I'm glad you're here. Come on, we're going up to the roof.

I suppose that's fair.

So, who do I have the pleasure of addressing?

( Her expression brightens up whenever he's around, the simple fact of his presence a warmth and a balm that makes it easier to forget the shitty situation they are — as almost ever — in. It's soothing in a way which is almost akin to the buzz of telepathy in her head, a long-absent reminder of her best friend's presence, familiar and easy and hopeful like the kiss he plants on her forehead. It's something which allows her to shed the weight of everything else and feel normal — or something like it, anyway.

Her head tilts when he suggests the roof, expression flickering in bemusement. The spire rooftops weren't exactly suitable for much more than a launch pad, tapering into fine points, so... )

Not this one. [He replies with a gentle laugh, stepping out and closing the door behind him. An arm goes around her shoulders while they head back down the stairs. No, the spire roof would be entirely unsuitable, unless one of them had come up with a way to stick to a surface so sharply inclined.]

There's a build not far from this one, it's flat. [She probably passed it on her way here, actually. A reasonably tall building, though not as high as the spires.]

Do you know what the day is?

( They'll have to ask Spiderman about that one, probably. Her brow furrows in thought as they descend, trying to place the building — ah. That one? It's a rather nice spot, she agrees, but it doesn't bear saying in the face of a more comfortable silence down the stairs until he asks that question. )

...Tuesday?

( At a guess. But the flippant response turns to thoughtful silence, trying to count the days and months — going over the different monsters that appeared in the city when the Door opened to count the ye— )

Been about a year, hasn't it?

As close to it as I've been able to keep track of.

[Though he did crack the slightest smile at her initial facetiousness. How very like her to make light of a question that held with it the implication of a more weighty response.

He's hardly been able to believe it himself, as the weeks and months have worn on and he is still here, and she is still at his side. It still amazes him, at times, to think that he can have something like this.]

And if I'm not mistaken, it's traditional to spend that kind of anniversary with the person that you love.
